What is an IEP or a 504?

I have always wanted to offer an event that would provide the most important information parents need to know surroundings Individualize Educational Plans (IEP’s), resource classes, and PARENT RIGHTS as they learn and travel through the special education process. Gina Miller, Consulting LLC, has been working with families for years helping them find the services and the best fit for their children, even if it means school districts will pay for the support. She also has referred many wonderful students to CORE Academy and Lainie’s Learning Lane for help.
After years of families asking me questions and hearing the sad and awful stories of how children with learning differences are treated, I asked Gina if she would partner with me to provide a class for parents that NEED to know the ins and outs of testing, resources classes, special education, the associated challenges, that come with all that, and more.

Gina Miller - Educational Advocate - Masters in Special Education. B.A. in Child Development, and holds an Administrative Credential
"Gina has been such a miracle for our family. Without her help, guidance and expertise, our son would not have received his long overdue IEP. Her professional, calm demeanor and amiable personality has helped all of our school meetings run so smoothly. She has the ability to cut through the awful red-tape with the district and directs the conversations towards the heart of the matter. I brag and recommend her to all my friends and we are so ever grateful for her." ~ Chris S.
"I fear to think of where we would be without Gina. Deciding to work with Gina was without a doubt the best decision we have ever made for our son. She is so knowledgeable and connected to the system. Walking into an IEP with her made us feel like we were finally being listened to and we were able to get everything we needed for our son to have the best chance of success. I highly recommend working with Gina. She gets results and is a pleasure to work with." ~ Chrissy J-S.
"Gina's diligent approach to securing proper services for our son Evan has been a godsend. In our experience, she has been respectful of the client, the parents, and the professionals involved, leaving all with a winning situation." ~ Tammy R.
CORE Academy has been a lifesaver for my son who always struggled with EVERYTHING in the traditional system. I knew it was time for a change when he came home telling me he was dumb and our evenings were taken over by homework and tears. CORE Academy has made school safe and fun for Westley and he is now starting to gain confidence and enjoy learning again. Nicole Larsen, 4 year parent
"To put into words how CORE has changed my son's life, as well as my husband's and mine, is difficult. It took our family all several months to adjust to getting of the "public school ride". Now that we are, I'm not sure how we ever lasted through the fourth grade. Our son now actually LIKES going to school, feels vastly more successful, 100% supported, and understood by his teachers.Miss Lainie and her teachers meet him where he is at in each subject and truly are RELENTLESS in their pursuit of how he learns best. I could never thank them enough for all they do to make our lives a million times better." Mary Tousignant - 3 year parent
